Scanning Electron Microscope Configuration of Recycled Carbon Fiber Composites: Mini Review_Crimson Publishers

Image
Scanning Electron Microscope Configuration of Recycled Carbon Fiber Composites: Mini Review by Seyed Hossein Mamanpush in Crimson Publishers : Open Journal of Civil Engineering Carbon fiber composites (CFCs) were mechanically refined and classified the scanning electron microscope (SEM) configuration of untreated and heat-treated mechanically recycled carbon fiber epoxy and carbon fiber vinyl ester composite was examined by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). SEM Results indicate that the main defects in the structure of recycled CFCs are broken fibers, fiber pull-out, fiber-matrix separation. Also Comparing SEM of untreated and heat-treated recycled CFC indicates that there is no significant difference between their micrographs. https://crimsonpublishers.com/acet/fulltext/ACET.000542.php For more open access journals in   Crimson Publishers   please click on the link   https://crimsonpublishersresearch.com/ For more articles in  Open Journal ...

Machine learning and Data Mining Techniques in Health Monitoring of Artificial Satellites Mission_Crimson Publishers

Image
Machine learning and Data Mining Techniques in Health Monitoring of Artificial Satellites Mission by Ashraf Darwish in Crimson Publishers :  Open Journal of Civil Engineering The development of an intelligent satellite health monitoring system is an essential issue in aerospace engineering that determines the state of health and failure of satellites based on telemetry data. The recent development of data mining and machine learning techniques makes it possible to use satellite telemetry data and to extract integrated information for the production of advanced health monitoring system. The editorial paper can be used as a guideline for the design of an intelligent health monitoring solution based on remote data. Satellites are amongst today’s most complex technical systems, they fulfill their mission in a very harsh and special environment. So, it is practically impossible to completely eliminate the possibility of anomalies or faults. Determining the state of health of these ...

Suitability of Soil for Earth Construction as Building Material_Crimson Publishers

Suitability of Soil for Earth Construction as Building Material by  Humphrey Danso in Crimson Publishers :  Open Journal of Civil Engineering In order to check the suitability of soil to be used as construction materials for earth construction, its geotechnical properties are required to be assessed. The purpose of this study is to review previously published studies’ soil samples and compare them with soil suitability criteria and for selecting suitable soil for earth construction. The geotechnical properties of soil samples used in previous studied were compiled and compared with various requirements to ascertain their suitability for construction purposes. Eighty-nine (89) studies in all were consulted and useful data were found in fifty-two (52) of them. Five geotechnical properties of soil were reviewed and analysed. These properties are particle size distribution, Atterberg limits, specific gravity, maximum dry density and optimum moisture content. Based on the v...
